According to Official PlayStation Magazine, the PlayStation 3 will not have a central online gaming service. The PlayStation 2 does not have this feature, but it makes it difficult for Sony to control the quality of online gaming. Also, since online gaming will be left for the publishers, gamers will be required to have different user accounts (and possible fees) for each publisher. The positive side of this is that publishers have the freedom to be more creative. We will let you make up your own mind if you think this is a good thing or not.
