Business Week has reported an analysis of Microsoft’s projected losses with the Xbox 360 done by iSuppli.
The hard drive for the Xbox 360 reportedly cost Microsoft $470 before assembly. The power supply, cables, and controllers cost another $55. These costs equal $525 which leaves Microsoft with a loss of $126 since the console retails for $399. This is an average loss for a new console.
The report mentioned that the PS3 will probably cost around $600 to make and will retail for around $450.
