New Video Game Law Proposed in Wisconsin

New Video Game Law Proposed in Wisconsin

None

Despite the fact that video game laws are getting overturned in every state they are being proposed in, Sondy Pope-Roberts, a State Representative in Wisconsin, has decided to introduce her own video game violence bill.

Her legislation will fine retailers who violate the law and sell violent video games to minors up to $10,000 or allow them to be imprisoned for up to three-and-a-half years.

“The disturbing material in Grand Theft Auto and other games like it are stealing the innocence of our children and it’s making the difficult job of being a parent even harder. We don’t allow children to rent or purchase R-rated movies, or suggestive magazines. Video games shouldn’t be any different. These video games are potentially very harmful to children,” commented Pope-Roberts.
