Girl Suffers Seizure While Playing True Crime: New York City

A girl in Iowa named Amy Kopaska (her age has not been specified) has suffered a seizure following a five-hour session of True Crime: New York City, according to The Denver Channel. Doctors deduct the girl was playing a segment of the game where a car drives through a snow storm while snowflakes create a strobe like effect. Her mother, Janell Hansen, found Amy thrashing in her bed.

“I rolled her over. Her eyes were dilated,” Hansen commented. “She was foaming at the mouth, gasping for air. Just breathing very hard. Then it was quiet. She didn’t move. I thought I was watching her die. It scared me terribly.”

“The pattern of the lights sets up an abnormal reaction in the brain and that causes the seizure to happen,” explained Dr. Joel Waymire, a pediatrician.
