Nintendo Revolution May Be Released After Competition

None

Nintendo held a shareholders’ meeting yesterday where Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, announced the that Nintendo Revolution was scheduled to launch after Sony’s PlayStation 3(Spring 2006) and Microsoft’s Xbox (Winter 2005). Previous to this, the Revolution was only said to come out sometime in 2006 in North America.

Shareholders seemed concerned that a late release would hurt the Revolution’s share of the market. Iwata tried to reassure the investors by stating that Nintendo is prepared for the next-generation console war with a long term plan on what kinds of titles will be released. Nintendo does hold the key to many gamers’ hearts with classic characters like Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong.
