The highly anticipated White Knight Chronicles, known as Shirokishi in Japan, was detailed at the PlayStation blog. This title was made “especially” for the PS3, but it is unknown whether or not it will come to the 360; it sounds as if “especially” doesn’t mean exclusively. Nevertheless, being initially developed for the PS3 should give Sony fanatics a taste of the JRPGs that they’ve been expecting from the console since day one.
White Knight Chronicles follows the exploits of a young man named Leonard, his quest to reclaim the kidnapped princess, and his magical suit of armor that empowers him to accomplish amazing feats.
The game focuses on epic scale in both battles with giant foes and a massive world within which to explore. Also, customization, including character and even battle commands, is a key feature of the title. Players will make unique characters for online play, and will actually be able to create and name their own combos for quick access during fights.
Moreover, White Knight Chronicles doubles your pleasure by offering two RPGs in one. That’s right; players will have access to a solo campaign with its own quests and story twists, and they can venture online with up to three other people to enjoy a completely different story.
Shirokishi will debut on Christmas day in Japan, but a North American release for White Knight Chronicles is still unknown.
