In a startling, pre-E3 move, Microsoft announced today that a new handheld gaming device, called the Xbox LIGHT, will be launching in North America on April 30, 2009.
The revolutionary portable features dual touch screens, fully supports Xbox LIVE, allowing current Xbots to sync up with their gamertag and accrue new achievements, it hosts a number of codecs including MP3 and MPEG, it has GPS, two built-in 20 megapixel cameras, Skype support, plays UMDs, DVDs, Blu-ray, VHS, and Betamax. It also has a slot for a toothpick, ball point pen, magnifying lens, nail file, rasp, two blades, tweezers, bottle opener / can opener, ruler, mini-saw, and an awl.
Ironically, the Xbox LIGHT weighs in at just under 22 lbs. Launch titles for the device include classic franchises such as Kameo Online, Gears of War: Epic Quest, and UNO X2. The fun won’t stop there though, new IPs including J-Lo: OBSV, Oh No You Didn’t!, Touch Me Again… I Double Dog Dare You, and Where Has that Been? round out the offerings.
