At Sony’s TGS 2009 media event, Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi announced that Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition will be heading to the PlayStation 3.

This retooled edition will allow players to use Sony’s motion controller – commonly known as the wand – in tandem with the DualShock 3.  Additional content will also be pumped into the title.  The game is set to hit Japanese store shelves in Spring 2010 to coincide with the release of the wand peripheral.
