SW:TOR Losing Steam?
When Star Wars: The Old Republic first came out, fans applauded it as being the next greatest MMO with staying power to rival even World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, the subscription numbers coming out of EA say otherwise.
Apparently, the game has lost 400,000 subscribers since earlier this year. In February EA posted a subscriber count of 1.7 million. Now it is posting a count of 1.3.
Of course, we may see this change in the coming months. Two new content packs, Legacy and Allies, will soon be dropping for SW:TOR, and MMOs tend to gain big boosts in their subscriber count whenever new content packs or expansions become available.
We will probably hear more about the future of SW:TOR this year at E3.
