Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Confirmed
After almost a year’s worth of teases, Konami has officially announced that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the sequel to 2010’s series reboot, will be arriving sometime in 2013.
A freshly-released official E3 trailer depicts returning hero Gabriel Belmont, who was revealed as Dracula at the end of the original Lords of Shadow, doing his supernatural vampire thing, beating down an army of knights in style. Whips, bloodsucking, smoke dragons, a giant golem, dramatic orchestral music, a mysterious white-haired figure, and Mr. Belmont not wearing a shirt underneath is trench coat are all to be found in the vid.
The title’s official website has also given a brief plot summary, saying that it is indeed the “shocking conclusion to the Lords of Shadow saga.”
“Dracula returns once again, weakened and yearning for release from his immortal bonds,” we are told. “Facing a new and powerful threat, the vampire lord must reacquire his old powers—and only his castle holds the key. However, the famed Belmont clan also seeks his ultimate destruction.”
So, it looks like we should all prepare for some familial violence come next year, when the game drops for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Expect more info to come during E3 next week.
