Telltale’s The Walking Dead has been a triumph of storytelling and an innovation amongst adventure games, and it’s only two episodes into its five-episode run!
That game is based on the comic series, though, and only nerds read comics. Real men (and women) watch television, and are probably more familiar with The Walking Dead through its AMC series than Robert Kirkman’s inked opus (a note to those who actually have read the comic: I’m only pulling your leg, and you guys are awesome).
For those who get their zombie kicks in live action, Activision is working with Terminal Reality to bring you a first-person shooter based on AMC’s most popular undead franchise. For those fearing a standalone rehash of Treyarch’s Call of Duty zombie modes, relax. Terminal Reality is trying to focus the game around a survival bent (perhaps stemming from the popularity of zombie survival sim DayZ?)
Will it flood the zombie game market? Hell, will it flood The Walking Dead game market? Probably, but it’ll likely do quite a bit to fill Activision’s coffers.
