I’m getting echoes of Modern Warfare 2’s Javelin glitch with the sudden appearance of Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s Prestige glitch. This one is, perhaps, a bit less frustrating for the players themselves, but the response from Treyarch has certainly brought the earlier incident to mind.
For those unaware, the Black Op II Prestige glitch allows players to level up to 55 instantly, simply by watching a certain video on COD TV. This is clearly unintentional, to the point where Treyarch has made it abundantly clear on Twitter that, for those found to have abused this glitch, there will be repercussions:
“Noticed a few “level 10” guys ruining the party for everyone…enjoy your new rank while it lasts. Solution (and demotions) incoming.”
It’s worth noting further that edited films and emblems will be temporarily locked down, most likely due to their relationship to the prestige issue.
