EA is planning to give gamers a late Christmas gift this year. The Dead Space 3 demo will hit Xbox LIVE on January 15th and the PlayStation Network on January 22nd. However, the Xbox demo isn’t as easy to get your hands on as you might think. In order to play the Xbox edition a week early, you’ll have to sign up at demo.deadspace.com. The PSN demo, on the other hand, should be available to everyone.
The demo will prominently feature the game’s co-op mode. EA describes it as a sequence that involves both Isaac Clarke and John Carver, DS3’s newly minted second player. It is unclear whether or not the demo will be playable in single player mode, because many of the details are being kept under-wraps. But it’s likely that we’ll see some of the same parts that we saw at E3. Then again, EA did use the words “deep space terror” to describe the demo and we haven’t yet seen a whole lot of space-related gameplay from Dead Space 3.
Dead Space 3 is scheduled to come out on February 5th in North America and February 8th in Europe. All of the major platforms will be supported.
