Blizzard has proven that MMO addicts are ripe for exploitation; luckily this exploit was for a good cause. Recently, they introduced a new Cinder Kitten vanity pet for players to purchase. Each purchase of the pet would be put toward Hurricane Sandy relief. The pet cost a paltry ten dollars, and over 2.3 million dollars of aid has been raised. This means approximately two hundred and thirty thousand gamers have purchased it. Now that’s impressive.
Well, we can’t complain about something that’s a win win, right? Hurricane Sandy victims get much needed aid and WoW players get a cute little kitten. Now if only this could be transferred over into other popular games. Guns for charity in Call of Duty? Special materials for charity in Minecraft? The possibilities are endless.
