Halo 4, the first non-Bungie entry in Master Chief’s saga, met with critical acclaim when it was released last November. But, due to its late release, Halo 4 wasn’t party to any serious discounts during Black Friday, or for the rest of the holiday season.
However, The Examiner claims to have obtained information, from a Best Buy representative, that the game will be going on sale this Sunday, February 3, for the extremely low price of $20. How valid is this information? The rep indicated that this information was passed on from Best Buy, but it remains a distinct possibility that there is confusion between Halo 4 and Halo: Reach, the latter of which currently sells for $30 at the store.
If this isn’t a miscommunication, though, and things are exactly as they appear, it begs the question “why now?” February is a traditionally slow month in gaming, true, and the Xbox is cooling down in light of the Wii U’s launch, but a $40 discount on the biggest exclusive title currently out on the console?
We’ll take this one with a grain of salt.
