Clearance sales are a hallmark of the end of a console lifecycle. With the recent announcement that the PlayStation 2 would be entirely ceasing production, the aged console’s games have already had their share of shelf-space diminished.
Now, Best Buy has put nearly every game in the console’s library, over 1400 titles, on sale. Each of them for a dollar.
This is, potentially, a golden opportunity to pick up some incredibly rare PlayStation 2 games for bottom of the barrel prices. The caveat is location: most likely due to the low price and scattered nature of the goods in question, Best Buy won’t ship them. It won’t even ship between stores. You have to hope that your local location has whatever games you’re interested in, because the only way to get a title is to physically go in store.
Still, 99 cents for everything from God Hand to Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne? Ico to Atelier Iris? It’s a tantalizing offer.
