The surprise announcement of a new Mirror's Edge game capped off Electronic Arts' big E3 press conference on Monday. Footage of the game showed the familiar, gleaming white city from the first game, but also focused on hand-to-hand combat between protagonist Faith and a group of enemies.
EA has now stated that this new Mirror's Edge title will take place in an open world. That phrase was used a lot during announcements of next-generation games, as developers appear to be fully embracing the improved technical capabilities of the new consoles. We don't yet know exactly what that open-world description will mean for Mirror's Edge, but we're sure to learn more up until the game's eventual release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
