Barring the coming release of Deus Ex; Human Revolution Director’s Cut (which was recently confirmed to be a multiplatform release), Deus Ex: The Fall (an iOS title), and the cross-gen reimagining of Thief, studio Eidos Montreal has been predominantly quiet regarding other projects. With three titles already on their plate, we didn’t expect to hear about many new projects from the developer—even though two of those three games are a comparably simple mobile title and a rerelease.
However, a recent shift in power in the inner workings of the studio left former executive producer David Anfossi in the seat of Studio Head. This change brought the news that Anfossi will be in charge of the Thief project, as well as all next-gen titles including two currently-unknown and unannounced games.
Deus Ex: The Fall was largely met with fan outrage. It seems that fans of the Deus Ex series have no interest in a petty mobile title, and would prefer that Eidos focus their efforts on a proper next-gen release. With any luck, these two mystery titles will be able to sate fan wishes.
