Sony may hold a price advantage over the Xbox One, but Microsoft has yet to answer to the PlayStation 4’s November 15th release date, leaving plenty of room for the holiday timeline to side with either console. Although the Xbox One has been confirmed to be delayed in several countries, the bigger hitters in the market have yet to hear when they can pick the system up. This makes the sudden surfacing of a Walmart product schedule that much more interesting, as it lists the Xbox One for a midnight release on Friday, November 8, 2013.
The news, coming from a source that contacted Kotaku, has yet to be confirmed or denied by Microsoft, and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. However, the alleged date isn’t tough to defend: releasing a week before its prime competitor would give the Xbox One a much needed edge in the holiday market, and the timing of the rumor implies that Microsoft was waiting to hear Sony’s plan before responding.
