Rockstar Disables GTA Online's Real-Cash Currency Exchange
Grand Theft Auto Online

Recently, I highlighted some of the features that made GTA Online different than GTA V. One of these areas was the ability to use real-world cash in order to purchase items in-game, without going through the trouble of earning revenue through the reward system (which would include things like pulling heists, completing various objectives, etc.).

Rockstar recently announced on its website that it will be disabling this featuring, stating: “For the time being and until we have been able to get everybody access to GTA Online and things are running smoothly, we have disabled the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. Players can however keep on earning GTA$ by pulling off Jobs and other profitable gameplay activities rather than purchasing cash packs.”

Grand Theft Auto Online launched October 1st with several major glitches, such as people being incapable of logging in to servers--add to that the most recent issues, including gamers being stuck at the tutorial stage and being unable to progress.

We will continue to monitor these issues as Rocktar works to resolve them.
