Despite mixed reviews of Resident Evil 6, the Resident Evil series does not appear to be dead, or even zombified. According to a former employee of motion capture studio House of Moves, Resident Evil 7 is in the works. This news comes by way of a LinkedIn profile, which states that someone worked as the costume designer for Resident Evil 7. If this is true, the game is certainly further along in development than just the planning stages.
House of Moves is a Los Angeles based company that has aided several different video game development studios in the past. They have done motion capture for games like Halo: Reach, God of War II, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
For now, this news is just a rumor. Capcom has not commented on this leak and has no official statement to make regarding a possible Resident Evil 7. However, Capcom representatives have been saying that Resident Evil is not a dead franchise for some time now. Specifically, Capcom has been talking about “returning to the roots” of Resident Evil for awhile.
