Xbox One Games Take a Lot of GB to Install

Over the weekend, one very lucky Target customer was able to get his hands on an early Xbox One console. After posting several updates and impressions on his Twitter account, a NeoGaf thread was created to provide specific information on the confirmed install sizes for every Xbox One launch title. Below is a list of almost every game and how much space they will each take up on your Xbox One 500gb hard drive:

  • Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag – 20GB
  • Battlefield 4 – 33GB
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts – 39GB
  • Dead Rising 3 – 19GB
  • FIFA 14 – 8GB
  • Fighter Within – 9.2GB
  • Forza Motorsport 5 – 31GB
  • Just Dance 2014 – 22GB
  • Killer Instinct – 3.4GB
  • Lococyle – 13GB
  • Madden NFL 25 – 12GB
  • NBA 2K14 – 43GB
  • NBA Live 14 – 9GB
  • Powerstar Golf – 3.9GB
  • Ryse: Son of Rome – 34GB
  • Skylanders: Swap Force – 15GB
  • Xbox Fitness – 246MB
  • Zoo Tycoon – 2.6GB
  • Zumba World Party – 24GB

Crimson Dragon, Lego Marvel Superheroes, and Need for Speed: Rivals are the only 3 launch titles that haven’t been included on this list. It is currently unknown if these sizes will be the same for both digital and physical copies of the game. Microsoft has also added that customers will be able to start playing these games about roughly halfway through the installation process.

After hearing today’s news on this topic, I’m even more puzzled as to why Microsoft didn’t give its respective next-gen console a bigger hard drive to begin with. While consumers who pick up a PS4 will also have the same internal hard drive size at launch, Sony has already stated that they can easily switch theirs out at anytime. On the other hand, Microsoft won’t allow their internal drive to be replaced, but will eventually allow external hard drives to be hooked up instead.

What do you think about these install sizes? Will this list have an affect on which games you decide to buy at launch? Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
