If you’re a purist (or a fan of Japanese culture in general), then you’ll be stoked to hear that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will feature Japanese VO!
In a recent press release, Squar Enix announced that you can get free DLC during the first two weeks of the game's launch that will allow you to hear the original Japanese voice-overs in-game. After that, the DLC will be available for purchase.
The press release touts the authenticity of the DLC, stating, “The Japanese Voice-Over Pack also includes lip-synching that differs from the English-language voice track already included with the game, to ensure a more natural and localized game experience.”
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes to the 360 and PS3 on February 11, Also, if digital is your thing, it will also be available on the PlayStation Network.
Now, even though I'm not a pre-ordering fan, doing just that will get you Cloud Strife’s Solder 1st Class Uniform and a Buster Sword (just as an FYI).
