A few days ago, Bioware and EA confirmed that subscribers of their Star Wars: The Old Republic video game now have access to the Galactic Starfighter expansion pack. According to a post on the game’s official developer blog, Galactic Starfighter is a 12v12 PvP free flight space shooter that will recreate all the epic dogfighting action as seen throughout the original Star Wars movies.
Senior Producer Blaine Christine added that the creative team has developed the perfect free flight experience thanks in part to improved controls and combat dynamics that vary based upon which battleships are used in certain encounters. He also stated that there would be various customization options ranging from weapon and engine upgrading to changing the overall appearance of each ship. Lastly, Blaine closed by mentioning that this expansion is part of a much larger plan that they have to extend the number of ships and battle zones once the expansion opens up to everybody in February.
Star Wars: The Old Republic has been well received by most fans and critics alike. This galactic starfighter expansion pack sounds ambitious and if done correctly will surely please longtime fans of the series. If you still have yet to experience what this game has to offer, then now might be a good a time as any to try it out.
