Yesterday, Overkill Software released a free Christmas themed heist mission for their popular co-op tactical first-person shooter Payday 2. According to a post over on OverkillSoftware.com, the Charlie Santa heist involves the gang robbing a bank during the holidays and having the option of wearing Santa Claus masks during the proceedings. Players are given the ability to take a stealth approach if they want to make things simpler. Those who are looking for a slightly more complex approach can freely drill into the vault while being fired at by the authorities. The easier approach will take players approximately 12 minutes to complete, while the harder scenario can last up to 20 minutes. There are a total of 9 new achievements that people will be able to earn while playing the mission. Overkill provided a launch trailer below to give you all an idea of what to expect from the DLC.
Payday 2 launched back in August and has since received favorable reviews from both critics and fans alike. Overkill’s decision to continue supporting the game is admirable and it will be interesting to see what DLC plans they have for it in 2014 and beyond.
