Capcom Announces Big Monster Hunter: World Update
Monster Hunter: World

March is a big month for monster hunters, as Capcom has announced the first big update for its smash-hit Monster Hunter: World. The update lands on March 22, 2018 and introduces a new monster and associated equipment. The update will also bring with it a whole bunch of changes and additions to the gameplay. Perhaps most importantly, Capcom seems to have solved carve-griefing.

The new monster is Deviljho, who looks appropriately nasty. Deviljho is not new to the series however, but is considered a fan-favorite challenge. With Deviljho comes a new armor set, the Vangis, which comes in both alpha and beta tiers. Deviljho’s parts also add a new design for each of the 14 weapons. The rest of the update includes a host of changes to several weapons, generally making improvements and fixing bugs. New options have been added to return to the Gathering Hub after a quest, a new text size option will be added, loading times will be reduced, and attacks from allies or other effects will no longer interrupt carving at the end of a quest. A new item will also be introduced to allow players to change their character designs. The first one will be free, but an in-game purchase will be required after that.

Finally, a new event called te Spring Blossom Fest will start on April 5 and run through April 18. The Celestial Pursuit hub and NPCs will be decorated for the event, and new daily activities will be introduced. Two special quests will be added as well, one netting players crafting tickets for Palico Mega Man gear, and the other giving parts to craft the Wyvern Ignition Great Sword, which was part of a community design contest.
