If you’ve heard of Pokemon, then you’ve heard of Pokemon Go. In fact, if you haven’t heard of Pokemon Go, I have to wonder how you have found yourself on a video game website. But, assuming you aren’t here based on some unfortunate mis-click in the Google search results, I suspect you might be interested to hear that new Pokemon are coming to the mobile augmented reality game.
Well, new Pokemon is maybe not the right term? In Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, players explore the Alolan region where popular Pokemon like Raichu, Marowak, and Diglet are available in new forms with new moves. Whether or not that constitutes new Pokemon is a semantic issue that is, perhaps, besides the point. These new forms can be super cool, super cute, or super weird looking. I like to think of what an Alolan Diglet might look like superimposed over reality.
Unfortunately, I can’t say for certain that will happen in the coming update. The blogpost that reveals the new Pokemon is lacking in details. All we know currently is that Alolan forms are coming soon and should be available in Summer 2018. It’s a good pairing, considering the tropical environment of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
