IGN has taken down a review for Twin Mirror’s Dead Cells after a YouTuber accused the writer of plagiarizing their review, which published a week earlier. Nothing has been confirmed or commented on yet, but IGN has stated an internal investigation is under way.

YouTuber Boomstick Gaming posted a new video comparing their original review to the IGN review, pointing out not only the editorial similarities, but structural ones as well. While both reviews lean on common language to describe the game, it’s difficult to not see how the IGN review comes off as parroting the same points in the same spots as the Boomstick review, only with minor word changes.

The IGN review, which was written by editor Filip Miucin, has been removed in both written and video form from the website. In its place is IGN’s initial statement, which reads, “As a group of writers and creators who value our own work and that of others in our field, the editorial staff of IGN takes plagiarism very seriously. In light of concerns that have been raised about our Dead Cells review, we’ve removed it for the time being and are investigating.”
