EA to Take Over Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and More

None

Electronic Arts has announced that it will be distributing Half-Life 2 for the PS2 and Counter-Strike: Source for the Xbox.

On April 28 2005, VU Games, the former publisher of these games, and Valve Software ended a five-year publishing deal that allowed VU Games to publish Valve’s Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Half-Life 2.

Valve is going to self-publish the PC versions of these games, but EA will be allowed to “deliver a collection of Valve games to players worldwide”.

And on a lesser note, EA has announced that they will help Namco publish Dead to Rights: Reckoning in Europe. The game was released exclusively for the PSP by Rebellion. The game is already available in the United States and will release in PAL territories in late 2005.
