Nintendo Reveals Revolution Online Details

Nintendo Reveals Revolution Online Details

None

Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, has revealed that the company intends the Revolution to feature free online play which will come already packaged with the system.

Fils-Aime states that today’s online games only see 15 out of 100 consumers who purchase them actually take them online. Fils-Aime says Nintendo wants to up the ante to 80, 90, 95 and/or 100% of that ratio taking games like Mario Kart or Animal Crossing online. He says Nintendo’s online strategy isn’t money driven like competitior Microsoft’s popular Xbox Live service, but rather enjoyment and entertainment driven.

“There’s going to be no subscription fee; we’re not looking at this as a profit-driven program. We’re looking at it as a way to bring more enjoyment and satisfaction to the game,” Fils-Aime said.

That’s great news for Nintendo fans everywhere. Now all we need is some concrete details regarding, oh, I don’t know….the Revolution system!!
