Halo: Master Chief Collection Officially Announced!

Welcome to CheatCC’s continuing day one coverage of E3 2014. We’ll be monitoring all the info coming from today’s conferences, and bring you the latest right from the convention floor in real-time!

After rumors swirled that a beefed up re-release of Halo 2 was in the works, many speculated what Microsoft had in store for E3. Bonnie Ross officially confirmed more than just a Halo 2 rumor, as she announced November 11 th as the release date for a compilation of Halo’s 1-4 (entitled The Master Chief Collection )!

While this is huge to be sure, it’s important to note that only one game is going to receive any real advances. The disc will include the recent remake of Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox 360, as well as the standard versions of Halo 3 and 4 .

However, Halo 2 will in-fact get the anniversary treatment, as we saw in a gameplay trailer. The game will feature an updated design with all new graphics, just like the original’s revamp. The team assures the original multiplayer will return and has been untouched. Look for it to run the same game types that were available ten years ago.

Other details include an interface that allows you to choose any level from all four games on-demand, a playlist of the best moments from the franchise, as well as crisp 1080p visuals. It will also include the Ridley Scott digital series that sets the stage for Halo 5: Guardians !
