Microsoft Making Project Spark Entirely Free

Microsoft Making Project Spark Entirely Free

Good news for people who like making their own projects and games. If you own an Xbox One, you’ll have free access to the entire Project Spark suite on October 5. The game is going to be completely free starting next month, rather than just being free-to-play with content packs you’d really need to buy to do good things.

To celebrate, lots of great things are happening in Project Spark . The Marketplace, Tour, and Treasure Trove will be removed. Everyone is going to get 100 upload slots so they can share their creation. Worlds will be bigger, since terrain limit and prop limit will double. 200 new assets will be added. Also, the original creations will be sorted based on favorites and downloads, so people won’t be downvoted into oblivion.

There is one downside to this good news. Project Spark was going to be home to user-created Conker adventures, thanks to a Conker’s Big Reunion add-on rollout. With this move, Microsoft is effectively cancelling all additional support for the game. No more DLC, which means the remainder of the Conker content will be cut. Hopefully, people will make cool things with what is available.
