We have about four months until the release of Battlefield 1 . Until then, EA is doing everything it can to raise awareness and get people talking about Battlefield . What that means for us, apparently, is free DLC for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline . Most recently, fans were able to score Getaway for free, and next up is Second Assault for Battlefield 4 . Second Assault brings back four maps from Battlefield 3 that have been completely overhauled “with the power of the Frostbite 3 engine.” So, you know, stuff will break into more pieces and explode more realistically when you blow it up. In addition to the new maps, Second Assault actually offers much more:
- Four new maps: destroy the ceilings of the flooded Operation Metro. Bring down the communications tower of the new Caspian Border. Create flammable hazards on Operation Firestorm and dodge Gulf of Oman’s sand storm. Second Assault pushes the fan-favorites to their limits.
- New and familiar: with five weapons re-mastered for Battlefield 4 , the return of the Dune Buggy vehicle, ten new assignments, and the Capture the Flag game mode, Second Assault combines familiar grounds with all-new features.
- Caspian Border reimagined: Caspian Border is a true Battlefield 4 classic, and in Second Assault the map has been redesigned with Frostbite 3 graphics, Levolution moments, and a breath-taking autumn setting.
If you’re planning to pick this up, then you better act fast. Second Assault is free until June 28.
