Some terrible news has happened, regarding a member of a League of Legends professional team. The older brother of Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, from Team Liquid, fatally stabbed their mother and seriously injured their father. The father, Guojon Peng, is currently in the hospital recovering and expected to survive.
Doublelift’s older brother, Yihong Peng, was spotted on the street by neighbors at 10:30pm on March 31, 2018 with a knife. The authorities arrived on the scene and managed to take Yihong into custody after a quick pursuit on foot. It was at that point that the brothers’ mother and father were discovered. First responders did what they could to save the mother, but were unsuccessful, while the father was transported to the nearest hospital.
Yiliang took to Twitter to explain that he would go to be with his father and little brother to support them during this time. He closed his statement with hopes that his fans would continue to stand behind him through this tough time. He was meant to compete with Team Liquid at the NA LCS Spring finals, but it’s safe to say he will not be any longer. The co-owner and CEO of Team Liquid, Steve Arhancet said that he would be giving Doublelift all the support and assistance he needs during this time.
