Octopath Traveler Won’t Have DLC

Octopath Traveler Won’t Have DLC

Octopath Traveler was a game shown during many company’s E3 2018 presentations, but it is only after the big event that some major news regarding it has broken. Now more details have emerged for the Nintendo Switch exclusive. Most importantly, the game will have no DLC. You get the whole game when you buy it.

According to Square Enix Producer Masashi Takahashi, Octopath Traveler will take around 50 to 60 hours to complete the main story alone. This isn’t wholly surprising, considering that the RPG is made by the team behind Bravely Default. He continued “It took about 80 to 100 hours in testing to play through the other elements, like sub-stories and dungeons that you don’t have to go to, as well as get proficient as you like at using special skills as field commands.”

As such, Octopath Traveler is considered a finished project and doesn’t require DLC. It isn’t even a consideration at this point. It’s a refreshing change of pace for this industry and gamers will be able to return to what is looking like a modern take on a classic video game experience on July 13, 2018. People who grab the demo now can play for three hours and carry over their save file.
