Warframe to Receive Nintendo Switch Release

Warframe to Receive Nintendo Switch Release

Right now, Warframe is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. Eventually, it will be available on Nintendo Switch, giving more players a portal to what is one of the most popular free-to-play MMORPGs on the market.

The game was announced at TennoCon 18. The characters in Warframe are called Tenno, so the convention is clearly for fans of the game and it seems that the developers are doing something right. The game is cooperative, social, and while microtransactions are present, they didn’t feel needed during my stint with the title. The game has also continued to grow, adapting to the wisdom and desires of fans, to improve upon what was formerly a pretty mediocre experience.

It isn’t clear, at this point, when Warframe will be released on the Nintendo Switch. All I know is that another platform is just another way to engage more players. The game does not have cross-platform play at the moment, but the creative director has, in the past, expressed interest in making that a possibility. We as gamers know at this point that crossplatform seems to be a result of a lot of negotiations, though. It’s a shame, dividing the player base like this, but a good game on multiple consoles is still nothing to shake a stick at.
