Hori Reveals Character-Themed GameCube Controllers

Hori Reveals Character-Themed GameCube Controllers

As a relatively new Nintendo Switch owner, I’m spending a decent chunk of change buying up third party controllers emblazoned with first party characters. It is looking like that habit isn’t about to stop anytime soon, because Hori, arguably one of the best peripheral makers for fighting games, has announced a line of character-themed GameCube controllers.

This is, presumably, in honor of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. After all, many think Super Smash Bros. is a series that is better with a GameCube controller. Agree or disagree with the sentiment if you will. I, however, am not a competitive player. I am just someone who has an interest in the Mario controller, the The Legend of Zelda controller, and the Pikachu controller. Why? Because they are just so pretty.

These Hori controllers will connect to the Switch via USB and will cost $26.77. The trick is that there hasn’t been any announcement for a release outside of Japan. But, if you can get your hands on them, then they will work with your domestic system. But I’m also willing to bet that these will see a release in the United States and Europe.
