Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee! Has Mega Evolutions

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee! Has Mega Evolutions

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have sent out a press release with a bunch of new information for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! This information includes more details on the Kanto region, which will be familiar to longtime fans, the inclusion of classic baddies Team Rocket, and the big ticket item: Mega Evolution.

Key Stones and Mega Stones are back in Pokemon: Let’s Go , and if you have the right ones for the corresponding Pokemon, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve once per battle. First introduced in Pokemon X and Y , Mega Evolution is a quick way to get a head in a tough battle. In these games, the first Pokemon you’ll be able to Mega Evolve are Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise.

The next item on the release is about the Kanto region, and Vermillion city. It’s not revelatory as we already know the game is based on Pokemon Yellow . However, it’s pretty cool to read about the S.S. Anne and Lt. Surge in a press release. 2018 is wild.

Indeed, the return of Team Rocket is exactly what you’d expect it to be in a Pokemon Yellow remake of sorts. Jessie and James are back, with Meowth in tow. Will they be even more like their cartoon counterparts this time around? Maybe!

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Will be launching for the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018.
