Fortnite Players Getting Free Emote for Being Secure

Fortnite Players Getting Free Emote for Being Secure

As we’ve reported in the past, the Fortnite community and Epic Games have been dealing with a lot of security problems. Some of this is related to people foolishly trying to get free V Bucks and things like that, but there are other issues with peoples’ accounts becoming compromised. The biggest defense Epic has offered so far is pushing people to enable two-factor authentication on their accounts. It’s a pain, but one of the best ways to protect anything you have online that you want to keep secure. Now, the company is adding a little in-game incentive.

If you enable two-factor authentication on your Epic Games account, which will require you to use email or text to generate a code in addition to your password, you’ll get a little bonus in the form of the Boogiedown Emote for your Fortnite setup. This is a rare Emote, so getting it otherwise isn’t so easy.

It’s not often you get rewarded for performing menial tasks like this, so it’s nice to see Epic giving away something for free in order to encourage people to be safer with their belongings.
