NBA 2K19 Added Loading Screen Ads

NBA 2K19 Added Loading Screen Ads

Something rather frustrating has come to NBA 2K19 . 2K Games has decided to add in additional ads. These aren’t extra banners ahead of modes for in-game purchases or signage in arenas while you play. Now, there are unskippable ads appearing during the loading screens for TV shows.

Originally, these sorts of ads appeared in-game on 2KTV. If you were playing a game, you would see commercials on different TVs in the background. Now, there is no way to get away from them. While some people are reporting turning off 2KTV in the NBA 2K19 settings will disable them, others are reporting there is no way around seeing these commercials.

Here’s a sample of the actual in-game NBA 2K19 ad. A 30-second spot for Snowfall, an FX show, appears ahead of the game. Even though the game 100% loads during the ad, it will not allow the match to start until after the clip finishes playing.

2K has not commented in the NBA 2K19 in-game ads. However, it did just recently drop the price to $2.99 on the PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. That drop was in effect during the week of E3 2019, but it has since returned to $59.99. That means people would be paying full price to play a game which has full ads for TV shows in the middle of it.
