Rumor: Resident Evil 3 Remake Release Coming Soon

Rumor: Resident Evil 3 Remake Release Coming Soon

There has been a lot of talk about a new Resident Evil game coming soon. In fact, back in April 2019, Capcom was even teasing its reappearance with Twitter posts referencing Jill and Nemesis. Now, a rumor suggests that it could be leading to a 2020 game. Supposedly, a Resident Evil 3 remake will appear next year.

This would fit, as Resident Evil 2 and 3 actually happen at the same time in the series’ timeline. In fact, Jill actually heads to the Raccoon City Police Department where Leon and Claire spent a lot of their time in the remake. If this rumor is valid, it could mean that game assets from the remake released in 2019 could be pulled and used in the possible 2020 game.

For those who never played it, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis follows Jill Valentine and Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service members as they attempt to escape from Raccoon City before it is destroyed. In addition to the zombies created by the T-Virus, Nemesis is constantly stalking your every move. The decisions you make influence what happen at the end.

As a reminder, there is no way to easily acquire and play Resident Evil 3: Nemesis on a modern console. It first debuted on the PlayStation, before being ported to the Dreamcast and PC in 2000. Years later, a GameCube version ended up appearing in 2003.
