DOOM and DOOM II Get Add-ons and Quick Saves

DOOM and DOOM II Get Add-ons and Quick Saves

Each version of DOOM and DOOM II has come a little bit closer to being the best ones they can possibly be. The Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile versions have received an update that brings things like curated add-ons to the game.

The DOOM and DOOM II add-ons could be the most exciting element, due to them being present even on systems where people normally wouldn’t be able to get mods. Bethesda has created an initial list of official and community original episodes and megawads. When you launch either game on a platform, you can go to Add-ons in the Main Menu to see and download different options. You can also go to the Add-ons section to activate one of the ones you have acquired and begin using it alone or in split-screen multiplayer.

Only a handful of DOOM and DOOM II add-ons are available alongside this update’s launch. Both games have The Plutonia Experiment and TNT Evilution. DOOM has John Romero’s Sigil. DOOM II has Nerve Software’s No Rest for the Living.

The other DOOM and DOOM II updates all are designed to make the quality of life better on every playform. If you are having trouble playing, you can now use quick saves to help you get through different areas. Switching weapons is easier, with a quick weapon select assigning different weapons to each d-pad direction and a weapon carousel for additional swapping options. There’s a level select, which lets you choose exactly where you want to go. You also now have a new 4:3 aspect ration option and it will run at 60fps.
