Cyberpunk 2077 Game and Multiplayer Delayed
Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has delivered a 1-2 punch of Cyberpunk 2077 delays to kick off 2020. The game was supposed to launch on April 16, 2020. It won’t be meeting that date. Quality control issues have stepped in. While the full title is apparently done and playable, the company has decided that both the main campaign and its eventual multiplayer experience are both being pushed back.

The main game has the briefest delay. Cyberpunk 2077 will now appear on September 17, 2020. The goal with this is to ensure the game is perfect at launch. This means the next few months will go into further development and testing to ensure a certain level of quality and squash bugs.

This also delays the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer even further. Originally, it was set to arrive sometime after the full game. CD Projekt Red mentioned it would be something of a separate experience and wanted to prioritize the campaign. Now, it has been pushed back about a year. The new release window for that is 2022. Originally, it was expected in 2021.

In the meantime, CD Projekt Red has promised more Cyberpunk 2077 updates. Perhaps this could mean a more regular flow of information in the lead up to its new September 2020 PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC debut.
