Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Rated in Korea

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Rated in Korea

Rumors that a remastered release for Activision’s contemporary classic Modern Warfare 2 have been around for a while now, yet nothing solid ever materialized. We’ve been through two Call of Duty releases since then, and other than some rumblings of the release being campaign-only, no dice. But now, the first good piece of evidence has emerged from an official organization. That organization being the Korean ratings board.

South Korea’s Game Registering and Administrating Committee has been a pretty good source of accidental video game leaks lately. This particular submission came from Activision Blizzard on February 26, 2020, and received an expected 18 rating. No release date is mentioned in the filing. Previously, PEGI (Europe’s ratings body) rated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered 2 , suggesting a 2019 release date. The listing was removed shortly after though, and obviously nothing happened last year.

Previously, we’ve seen prophetic Korean ratings for games such as Castlevania Requiem and Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition , both of which were eventually announced sometime after appearing on the organization’s website. We don’t typically see a lot of games leaked via this route, so it seems like these events are more of a fluke than anything else. Either way, both of those are recent examples that were 100% accurate, although Modern Warfare 2 getting a remaster isn’t the most shocking project in the world to say the least.
