FFVII Remake Physical Copies Will Likely Be Delayed

FFVII Remake Physical Copies Will Likely Be Delayed

The coronavirus pandemic is only getting worse before it gets better, with schools, stores, and events being shut down around the world. Naturally, video game sales are also being impacted. While it seems like digital releases, announcements, and internet-based happenings are proceeding as planned, the same can’t be said for physical releases. Square Enix has already released one statement on how COVID-19 may be impacting Final Fantasy VII Remake . But now, Square Enix has released a second, less optimistic statement.

There’s really no avoiding this one. Square Enix noted that while businesses and other spaces are on lockdown, postal service for nonessential items is also facing delays. That includes entertainment products, at least while essential items need to reach their destinations as soon as possible. So while certain distribution channels are blocked, Square Enix doesn’t see any problems getting everyone’s game’s shipped. However, that doesn’t mean everything will arrive on the game’s April 10, 2020 release date.

A lot of this stuff depends on where your copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming from. Different retailers have different plans, some of them more drastic than others. Many stores are offering things like curbside pickup, but you’ll want to call your local store and ask. For online retailers, Square Enix states many are already starting to roll out delivery updates as needed, so keep an eye on those order status pages.

Finally, if you’re ordering straight from the source, Square Enix has your back. The statement read, “Ee are currently making arrangements to ensure that pre-orders from the SQUARE ENIX STORE reach you by April 10.”
