The Gears 5 release date may have inadvertently been revealed. A website known as Generacion Xbox suggests that it could be out this fall. To be more specific, September 10, 2019 could end up being the day Kait Diaz heads out on her big adventure. Though, Microsoft hasn't confirmed that yet.
However, something a little more likely also was revealed alongside this possible Gears 5 release date. The Taiwanese Age Rating Board ended up showing off the box art for the game. Kait is front and center, which seems only right seeing as how she will be the lead. Around her are other familiar faces, like Marcus Fenix, JD Fenix, and Delmont Walker. We aren't exactly sure what role each of them will play in the game, but we'll likely know by the time E3 2019 rolls around.
However, an antagonist also seems to show up in this art. To the left of Kait appears to be Myrrah. She was the Locust Horde Queen during the Locust War and Locust Civil War. She appeared for the first time in Gears of War 2, though we heard her before then, and also showed up in Gears of War 3. I suppose this means she will have some sort of role in Gears 5, even though past events might make that a little difficult for her.
Gears 5 will be released in 2019, so we'll know soon enough if this leak is true.
