The Division Has One-Strike Permabans Now Too

The Division Has One-Strike Permabans Now Too

Earlier this week , Ubisoft altered Rainbow Six Siege’ s code of conduct to get tough on cheaters. One strike and you’re out. Apparently, that draconian level of no tolerance is becoming universal. The company decided that’s the policy going forward for The Division, too.

Here’s how The Division used to punish cheaters. People would be suspended for two weeks the first time after being caught. Repeat offenders were banned. It didn’t stop the cheaters from using their engines and third party software. They were still ruining the game for other players. So, now people who are caught cheating are permanently banned for the first offence.

Ubisoft also says it’ll offer alerts on ban waves. We’ll know when people are being removed from The Division, which is great. It shows the company’s commitment to policing the game. Cheating is never great in a game like this, where everyone should be on equal ground, and hopefully these actions will make The Division even stronger.
